What is Ayurveda
Ayurveda is a holistic system which guides us so that we can live a healthier and more balanced lifestyle. This ancient Indian science has existed for over 5000 years, aiming to create harmony and balance within the body and mind through balancing the three “doshas” Vata, Pitta and Kapha or vital energies, of a person.
The three doshas of a person are made up of a combination of two of the five great elements: space, air, fire, water and earth.
Each person has their own unique required levels of each dosha for equilibrium. If an imbalance occurs the flow of energy or ‘prana’ is disrupted. The aim of Ayurveda is to bring the body, mind and soul to a state of healthy balance through a variety of Ayurvedic therapies.
