Chapel Spa Classes

We offer classes in the ancient arts of Pilates, Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga, which take place in the serene surroundings of our gallery and are taught by instructors who are recognised on a national level.

The Ashtanga method of Yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures - a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is an improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind.

Our programme is designed for beginners and the more experienced, and classes are limited to a maximum of 12 people per class, which ensures participants receive personal instruction and gain in confidence and ability.

Beginners Pilates (Level 1 & 2) with Clare Rigby.
Pilates is a method of movement which leaves you feeling slimmer, strong to the core and if practised enough can change your body shape. Participants learn the basics of Pilates and practise level 1-2 exercises with other beginners. Recommended for a healthy back &long lean muscle tone. The class format includes a warm up with simple Pilates exercises focusing on underlying principles and closing with gentle stretches & calming relaxation. These classes are recommended as a starting point before progressing to the Improvers class.

Pilates Improvers (Level 1, 2 & 3) with Clare Rigby.
A class designed for those familiar with beginners pilates or have previous experience of the technique.  This class includes a rhythmic warm up with dynamic balance and stretch, followed by a Pilates matwork routine. Modifications are offered to accommodate varying ability so you choose level 1, 2 or 3 exercises and make the class your own. The session closes with soothing relaxation leaving you with a calm focused mind and feeling like you\'ve worked every inch of your body.
